At Tailored Marketing, we enjoy helping fellow small businesses in our community to flourish. Playing a role in countless “before and after” stories of success is our everyday motivation and source of fulfillment, both professionally and personally.
One recent example is our ongoing partnership with a leading childcare provider with locations in North and South Carolina. We were first approached in 2025 as they were opening a center in a new market. Despite their strong reputation, an expansion of any business always poses challenges and requires strategic marketing support. We’ve since helped them to open a subsequent location in 2026 and greatly reduce their overall website expenses.
Given their permission, we’d like to share the story and results of our partnership. And hey – if you need child care, we know some great folks. 😉
Background – “The Before”
When we first met the business owner in 2025, it was clear he and his regional coordinator were wearing many hats. While the acquisition of this new center was too promising to pass up, doing so unaided was adding tremendous strain. Without adequate marketing, the center was operating at only 25% enrollment, and its losses had to be offset by the other centers’ revenue. There were also public relations issues tied to that facility’s previous ownership that needed to be overcome.
While the other centers were operating successfully, there were still major marketing gaps organization-wide that impeded their growth. They had contracted with a website vendor prior to our engagement, but the vendor was past due on its delivery and creating unnecessary headaches and busywork for the staff. Meanwhile, the existing website was not well optimized for search engines, which hindered its visibility in parents’ local childcare searches. The centers also had no social media presence and were reluctant to establish those channels, concerned about adding more work to their already thin bandwidth.
Our Partnership – “The Work”
The immediate need in spring of 2025 was advertising to strengthen enrollment at the newly acquired center. Targeted Google and social media advertising reached local parents of children specifically within the center’s age range served. The implementation of conversion tracking credited which channels delivered leads and calculated each’s return on ad spend.
After delays by their website vendor, their new site finally launched shortly beforehand. However, there were crucial gaps left by the developer: they failed to install basic analytics, configure conversion tracking, or implement SEO. Our audit identified these missing elements and established the necessary foundation for the new website to attract and measure visitors.
Our team also launched Facebook and Instagram profiles from scratch to establish social media visibility. We took on content publishing for the initial months while we trained their team on best practices, content ideation, and ways to minimize the workload of social media management. To date, social media remains a significant driver of their website traffic and conversions that were absent previously.
Performance reporting with an integrated dashboard was set up for the centers’ administration. This helped them to understand at a glance where their website visitors were coming from, which channels were producing leads, which pages visitors were viewing, and how effective each advertising campaign was.
Results – “The After”
After only two months in 2025, enrollment at the new center had more than doubled, and a waiting list was even required for the applicant surplus of some ages! From operating at a loss only months earlier, the center had begun to turn a profit.
With an ample applicant pipeline and the new center already rising to the first page of Google for local childcare searches, we were able to conclude the brief advertising flight and collaborate on organic marketing strategies for the staff to execute long-term. Rather than push our services and insist on a long-term contract, we were pleased to consider our mission fulfilled and that the business owner knew he could always contact us when he anticipated needing our help again.
…We just didn’t expect it to be so soon and with the unanticipated acquisition of yet another childcare center in a brand-new market. In spring 2026, we were pleasantly surprised to hear the organization had acquired another location. Similar to the center that opened in 2025, this newest center had fewer than five students by its official opening.
With our proven game plan and our established knowledge of their new market, we were able to nimbly launch targeted advertising within a short turnaround. In less than two months, enrollment had tripled. We also implemented SEO specific to the new center to boost its visibility to nearby parents, establishing a trajectory for long-term organic growth.
Most recently, the business owner expressed concerns about the high cost of website maintenance with their initial vendor. After reviewing their setup, we upgraded their site’s hosting to a fast and reliable server while reducing their annual expenses. We also took over website management of their ongoing updates at less than half of the hourly rate billed by the initial vendor for work they were delegating to foreign-based freelancers.
